ACT Multicultural Awards

We were invited to attend the ACT Multicultural Awards on 30th September 2026 for two reasons.  Firstly we won the 2025 ACT Multicultural Award for Multicultural Arts, Culture or Media and were asked to give speech about what the award meant and also to announce the winner for 2026.  Our Sifu Wilson Lo discussed the purpose of Canberra Dragon Dance and how it combats racism in the community and contributes to a vibrant and diverse community in Canberra.  He was also honoured to announce the 2026 winner being Mr Kishor Nangrani from Radio Manpasand.

Secondly we were asked to perform for the event with two short lion dances - our first one was a classical drunken lion dance with our lions Raven and Fury.  The second was an interactive LED lion dance highlighting the athleticism of our performers.

We'd like to congratulate all the winners of the other categories who have all made outstanding contributions to our community and beyond.
