Holiday season is in full swing and we all need a break! It has been a busy year for the academy with so many new students and so many students sitting gradings and gaining so many useful self defence skills. Our performance side has been the busiest ever with over 70 performances and workshops this year. We recently announced our award winners for this year and you can view them on our students page Next year will be just as busy and we are preparing for 2020 already. The Year of the Rat starts on 25th January 2020 and we already have many performances around Canberra locked in. Our classes at Radford are on a break until Monday 3rd February but our classes at UC are still in full swing with extra sessions to help us prepare for next year. You will also see some new lions we have had made for our academy from China plus 5 new dragons! If you are interested in our classes now is the time to try out some free sessions and we always appreciate the help we can get for our preparations! Contact us for more information because we will soon announce some extra holiday workshops for kids and teens. We hope you all have a safe and joyous holiday season!

Due to the popularity of our classes we have expanded our teaching times from three to four times a week during December and January to prepare for the busy Lunar New Year period.
Now is a great time to join our academy and learn new skills! Please contact us if you'd like to give us a hand! Following our performance at the VIP opening of the Historical Expression of Chinese Art exhibition at the National Museum of Australia we have been invited back to run workshops during the July school holidays and perform at the Chinese Festival Day on Sunday 21st July. Each week we will hold workshops on the Wednesday and Friday of the holidays:
0930 - 1100 Dragon and Lion Dance. This will include chinese percussion which provides the heartbeat of the dragons and lions. 1130 -1300 Kung Fu. Includes basic movements in the air and on the pads, forms, stretches, breathing and meditation. Both these workshops are great as standalone activities for the holidays for the kids and also great introductions if they are keen to commit further to join our regular classes. Each class is limited to 30 students so you need to book tickets early to avoid disappointment. You can book HERE On Thursday 4th July we held a junior white sash grading for 3 of our students at our Radford classes. Our room is on the left after walking through the entrance. The classes are now longer being 90 minutes although the last 30 minutes are optional for students who are pursuing more training time.
