SafetyAll classes are supervised by Dr Wilson Lo and safety of the students is a priority. A medical history must be filled out before a student can even trial a class. Being an accredited kung fu school with Kung Fu Wu Shu Australia means the instructor undergoes regular training in safety for kung fu classes and first aid. A working with vulnerable persons check is also conducted and classes are run in accordance with occupational health and safety guidelines as per Fitness Australia.
Professional Indemnity and Public and Products Liability insurance is also held via Martial Arts Australia. |
Techniques are practised between students with minimal or no contact and if any drills require light contact to the head then gloves and full face helmets are worn. We treat concussion very seriously and if there are any signs or symptoms of concussion then the drill is stopped and the student is rested until fully recovered.
If there is anything more than light contact to the body and legs then chest guards, groin guards and shin guards are worn. A first aid kit and ice pack is available at every lesson and rarely used. Compared with many team sports our kung fu classes result in very few injuries. |
